50 years ago in a rural Nigerian village, a young man lost his father while still in secondary school. Unable to bear the cost of schooling himself, his community came together to pool resources to offer him a loan to complete his secondary education. Following this he proceeded to university with his community’s support. On completing his education, he got a job and was to pay back the education loan he was given. He went on to become a successful business leader created by the power of community financing. Years later, this young man, now a successful business leader returned to the community to set up a microfinance bank to help fund the lives, dreams and aspirations of other families in the rural community he was from. So that others like him can dare to dream and see their dreams come true.
